The YK Fitness Center is pleased to offer challenges for all fitness levels. Fitness challenges are a great way to stay motivated, focused, and provide a little guidance if you know you want to get active but aren’t sure where to start or what to do.
December 2022- April 2023 Skyscraper Challenge - Are you ready to tackle some of the tallest skyscrapers in the world?
We present to you 20 of the tallest skyscrapers in the world with the challenge of climbing as many of these skyscrapers as you can over the course of the winter on our Matrix Stair Climber, Plyo Box, or stacking platforms. Each week we will post a new skyscraper and a few fun facts about it. Climb the equivalent amount of flights of stairs for that sky scraper. You can climb it all in one session, or over the course of the week.
Start anytime, anywhere by tracking your stairclimber floors or vertical steps on your stairs, a plyo box, or step platform. Then enter your floors/steps on our tracking sheet at the Fitness Center or email Brian at Brian.Jackson@hfit.com.

2023 YKFC Decathlon
Overview: The YKFC Decathlon is a Free 10-event competition that takes place over 3 months. Participate in all the events or just a few. The Decathlon is open to members and non-members age 16 and older. We will start with a baseline of where you are now, measuring strength, speed and endurance and see how you improve at the end of the program on those same measurements with a retest and some competition activities for those who love to compete. Weekly training tips and ideas will be shared throughout the 12 weeks and we will check in with you monthly to see how you are progressing.
Decathlon Dates – Jan 30- April 30
· Jan 30-Feb 4 (week 1) initial assessments
· Feb 5 - April: Complete workouts, receive Weekly tips, and participate in monthly checkins.
· April 23- April 29 final assessment with option competition(s).
· April 30- winners announced

Assessment: Each event is assessed separately based on percentage of improvement. If you choose to compete against others a winner will be determined for each event (see competition guidelines).
How to participate:
1. Register for the event at the front desk or online starting 1/28/23
2. Sign up for an assessment time(s): (multiple sessions may be needed if you are participating in all events)

3. Complete regular workouts to improve your strength, speed and endurance.
